Vacancy: Senior Research Engineer

Would you like to work on the latest generation of composites and combine research with application development in a close relation with industry? Then the TPRC might be the right place for you.

Job description

You will work in various projects that involve the development of thermoplastic composites processing technologies for our industrial partners. These projects usually require experimental research using our well-equipped laboratory combined with modelling and design. In your role, you will act both as a specialist and as a project manager.

Your profile

  • A PhD or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science or an equivalent study;
  • A teammate experienced with the management of projects within the composites manufacturing industry;
  • Ability to implement academic knowledge in engineering solutions;
  • Knowledge of (thermoplastic) composite properties and production processes involved;
  • Experience with the manufacturing and testing of composite parts, with a hands-on mentality;
  • Proactively seeking collaboration with partners, suppliers and other research institutes;
  • Affinity with giving presentations, workshops and training to industrial partners;
  • Good interpersonal skills, proficient English in word and writing.

TPRC is a research center based on a consortium of industrial and academic partners active in the thermoplastic composites industry. We believe in thermoplastic composites as the material for lightweight manufacturing of high-performance structures such as aircraft. Our primary aim is to enable a more widespread use of thermoplastic composites by eliminating technological barriers.
