This April 19th, it is time for the third episode of the TPRC Talks!

TPRC Talks is back!

After the success of the first two episodes, it is time for the next TPRC Talks. In episode 3 of our online talk show, we will invite you along into the world of welding. And just like last time, we will be broadcasting live from our lab!

In this episode our experts will talk about the different welding techniques and why the research into welding so important is. Welding techniques, for example, will allow us to make the shift towards complex, large structures of thermoplastic composites.

TPR Ctalks 3 Socials Announce

Let’s introduce the stars of TPRC Talks 3:

- Wouter Grouve, Assistant Professor at the University of Twente

- Erik Krämer, Senior Research Associate and Business Developer at the TPRC

- Yannick Buser, as a PhD-candidate, Yannick will share his enthusiasm and view on induction welding

Of course, our partners also get the stage in this episode:

- Francis Samalot, Associate Technical Fellow of Boeing Research and Technology

- Andi Meyer, Engineering Manager Adv Research & Technology of Spirit AeroSystems

- Maarten Bach, Thermoplastics Account Manager of KVE

And last but not least, some big news

The TPRC recently shared big news. We are part of a research consortium, working on the project ENLIGHTEN (Enabling Integrated Lightweight Structures In High Volumes). The consortium has been awarded with a grant of over 6 million euros by the Dutch Research Council. The aim of ENLIGHTEN is to find a way to produce reliable large structures using thermoplastic composites in a predictable, reproducible and cost-effective way. Remko Akkerman is the program leader of this new research program. We will shine our light on this project in this episode.

And, you will be able to ask your questions directly to the experts.

Date: Monday 19 April 2021

Time: 16.00 - 16.45

Learn more about the TPRC

The TPRC is a consortium of industrial and academic members active in the thermoplastic composites industry. We believe in thermoplastic composites as the material for lightweight manufacturing in large volumes. Our primary aim is to enable a more widespread use of thermoplastic composites by eliminating technological barriers.
