15 years of TPRC

TPRC celebrates its 15th anniversary! The past years were filled with new collaborations and extensive research that is on the forefront of advanced developments in thermoplastic composites and their processing technologies. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to our exciting journey from the beginning - together we have grown into a reliable and top-quality research center, dedicated to developing fundamental knowledge in thermoplastic composites. TPRC's key achievements that define our 15 years of excellence:

Back to overview

Extensive research publications | More than 80 extensive research papers have been published by TPRC, spreading fundamental knowledge on the development of thermoplastic composites.

Building strong partnerships | Innovation is team effort. Over the years, TPRC has worked with 26 distinguished partners, creating a robust research consortium. These partnerships have helped shape our research roadmap, driving developments and industry advancements in thermoplastic composite technologies.

Training and Education | Educating the next generation is essential to ensure a sustainable future for thermoplastic composite industry developments.

  • Over 325 trainees have participated in TPRC’s specialized thermoplastic composites training courses;
  • 150 students have graduated after conducting meaningful research with us;
  • More than 14 PhD researchers have successfully defended their dissertations, contributing significant knowledge to the field.

We are very excited for all future developments, collaborations, and innovations in the thermoplastic composites industry. There are many promising future paths laying ahead of the TPRC and its consortium on the road to an increasing understanding of thermoplastic composites and their processing methods. Advanced thermoplastic composite technology will significantly reduce weight and manufacturing cost of future aircraft. Aerospace and automotive industries will therefore greatly benefit from the promise of thermoplastic composites as material of choice for lightweight components. On to many more successful years of developing fundamental knowledge on thermoplastic composites!

To mark this milestone, cans with a special design and the Dutch ‘stroopwafels’ cookies were gifted to partners during the TAB, trainees, and team members.
