The TPRC has a relatively short, but rich history. In 10 years, the TPRC has grown into a unique worldwide research center for thermoplastic composites.

  • Birth of the TPRC, making use of the facilities of the University of Twente.

  • Acquisition of own floor space on Business and Science Park.

  • Installation of the press, the autoclave and the Instron testing equipment.

  • Official opening of the TPRC laboratory double floor space.

  • Installation Coriolis fiber placement equipment. Doubled office space and opening conference room.

  • Opening welding laboratory.

  • Installation robotized induction welding equipment.

  • Installation Krauss Maffei injection overmolding machine.

  • International recognition with obtaining various awards.

  • The TPRC team has grown to 40 employees and PhD students.

  • The TPRC welcomes its 20th member.

  • 10 year anniversary of the TPRC.

  • 20th Technical Advisory Board meeting.

  • Future of Thermoplastic Composites conference on October 8, 2019.

  • The TPRC welcomes its 22nd member.

The ThermoPlastic composites Research Center (TPRC) is a consortium of industrial and academic members active in the thermoplastic composites industry. The TPRC believes in thermoplastic composites as the material for lightweight manufacturing in large volumes. The primary aim of the TPRC is to enable a more widespread use of thermoplastic composites by eliminating technological barriers.
